Miss Saori bred with love

What a romantic story! The Japanese breeder Ryoji Irie loved his wife so much that he named with her name one of the nicest and the most awarded variety of Hydrangea macrophylla of You&Me series.

This Hydrangea was presented as a debutant at the RHS Chelsey Flower Show and immediately was chosen as the “2014 Chelsea Plant of the Year” and above all – was pointed as the best of 40 entries. It’s not very surprising if you take into account that Miss Saori has beautiful, double-petalled, sterile flowers with deep rose margins. The color softens to white in the center and creates a nice contrast with the dark leaves that turn burgundy in spring and autumn. Looks great in borders and containers, can be used as a cut flower.

  • the long flowering period starts in June
  • growes to 1×1 m heights and wide
  • winter hardy to -18°C

  • sunny or semi-shade location
  • regular watering
